2 men charged in strip mall shooting that left man wounded

LINDENWOLD, N.J. (AP) -- Attempted murder charges have been filed against two men who allegedly shot and wounded another man at a southern New Jersey strip mall last year.

Camden County prosecutors say 31-year-old Richard Miller, of Clementon, and 21-year-old Lindenwold resident Raheem Thomas also are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, three counts of aggravated assault and several weapons offenses.

Bail was set at $400,000 for each man. Authorities say both are currently jailed on unrelated charges, and it wasn't known Sunday if they've retained attorneys.

The charges stem from an April 2014 shooting in Lindenwold.

Prosecutors say the 35-year-old victim was driving out of the mall when another vehicle came up behind him. Two masked men then emerged from that vehicle and opened fire with an assault rifle and a handgun.

Authorities say several shots were fired by the assailants, with one shot hitting the victim in the left arm. Some of the shots also hit the victim's car and an occupied home across the street, but no other injuries were reported.

The two shooters then fled in the vehicle, which was found a short time later in another area of Lindenwold. Authorities have said they recovered physical evidence from the scene and the vehicle which led them to the two suspects.
