Police are investigating whether a pedestrian accident and a shooting that left a two people dead are connected.

Trenton Police first responded to shots fired on East State Street and Olden Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night and found Barry Church, 52, dead on the front steps of an East State Street home according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.

Around the same time police also received a call about an overturned vehicle/pedestrian incident on East State Street. A Chevrolet Blazer hit several parked cars, 2 pedestrians and then overturned. Police found the unidentified 23-year-old male driver of the Blazer to have been shot in the neck; he was pronounced dead at Capital Health Systems at Fuld. One of the pedestrians, a 23-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was thrown many feet from the scene.

Also being investigated for a connection to the Saturday night incidents are an 18-year-old male who came to Capital Health with a gun shot wound to the leg and ankle and another person who came to Capital on Sunday morning with wounds to the stomach area who died a half-hour later.
