Two workers were killed in an accident at a Morris County construction site.

The Daily Record reports a crane dropped a 10,000 pound generator at the site of the new Whippany fire station onto the workers below after a strap snapped.

Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) spokeswoman Lenore Udderyback-Fortson said her agency is investigating the incident and said the two victims worked for Industrial Process & Equipment of Sussex. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is also investigating the incident.

The names of the victims have not been released.

"I lift air conditioning units all the time and it's a very dangerous thing to do. It's a lot of weight," contractor Doug Falone told ABC 7. Crews are trying working on how to best remove the generator as it is unstable.
