DUNELLEN -  Police are searching for gunmen who they say opened fire Sunday, injuring two men as they stood outside a borough rental hall.

According to authorities, the two victims were standing outside the facility located at North Washington Avenue and Front Street around 6:30 p.m., when two men in a while mini van approached them. The suspects fired an undisclosed number of shots before fleeing the area, police said.

After the shooting, the victims were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where they were treated for gunshot wounds, authorities said. Police have not released the names of the victims.

No suspects have been identified and police say the investigation is continuing.
