2 Charged After Posting School Threat On Facebook [VIDEO]

Two south Jersey men face charges after they allegedly threatened on Facebook to “shoot up” their former high school, a posting they claim was only made to see whether the website would remove it as inappropriate.

Gloucester Township police say 21-year-old Brandon Worley of West Deptford and his 24-year-old roommate, Ramon Leon, were each charged with creating false public alarms and making terroristic threats. Both men were being held on $35,000 cash bail, and it wasn’t known Tuesday if either man had retained a lawyer.

The pair told authorities they were only joking about causing violence at Highland Regional High School in Gloucester.

Officials say the two had previously posted vulgar and sexually explicit comments and photos on Facebook, apparently trying to get inappropriate messages posted on the site.

In a message to parents, the district explained that an acquaintance of the pair notified police who searched Worley & Leon’s home which turned up no weapons. Officials reiterated that there is “no credible threat” to Highland High Scool or any other area school.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
