WEST MILFORD — Two people were airlifted to a hospital following a serious boating accident on Greenwood Lake late Monday night, New Jersey State Police said.

Police say a total of four people were injured in the accident, two of them seriously. According to the North Passaic Daily Voice, the accident involved a jet ski. Two of the patients were taken to a hospital by ambulance while the other two were flown to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, State Police told the Daily Voice. The article states that one of the victims had a serious head injury.

State Police say they are still investigating the cause of the crash. The names of the victims have not been released.

Greenwood Lake straddles the New York/New Jersey border in Passaic County.
