The adventurous Captain Kidd has set sail for Historic Cape May in hopes of arriving on Sunday, July 16 ,2017 for the 54th Annual Cape May Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt to be held on the beaches of the nation’s oldest seashore resort. Youngsters are invited to rendezvous with Captain Will Kidd on the Cape May Promenade in front of Cape May Convention Hall on July 16 at 1 p.m. Lucky treasure seekers will follow Captain Kidd to his secret site in search of the elusive buried treasure. This event is free and open to children ages 3 – 10 years old.

MORRIS COUNTY


This family-friendly annual event presented by the White Meadow Lake Property Owners Association features live entertainment, contests, fireworks, favorite fair food and midway rides for all ages. Festival parking and admission are free. Unlimited ride wristbands are $25 on Friday and $30 Saturday - Sunday. Ride tickets are also available onsite for $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 3 or more tickets each. Carnival hours are 6 - 11 pm Friday, 3 - 11 pm Saturday (noon festival opening), and noon - 10 pm Sunday.

This walking tour will cover a half mile and take one hour. Walk in Hamilton's shoes; he lived in Morristown twice as aide-de-camp to General George Washington. On his second visit, he met and wooed his future wife, who was visiting Morristown, Eliza Schuyler. Tour begins at 10 am in the center of the Morristown Green. Cost is $15 per person.

OCEAN COUNTY


The Wooden Boat Festival is a yearly festival hosted by the Toms River Seaport and Maritime Museum for many years. This event is filled with family fun, wooden boat races, and live entertainment and food. Call the Toms River Seaport for any questions regarding this event. Now accepting applications for Wooden boats and vendors. The Toms River Seaport and Maritime Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the maritime history of Toms River and Barnegat Bay. With exhibits, display and educational programs, The Seaport provides knowledge and understanding of the important maritime history of Toms River. Founded in 1976 the Museum occupies the 1868 Carriage House of Joseph Francis. The Seaport and Museum are a volunteer run non-profit organization. Donations are used to update displays, vintage boat repairs, and educational programs.

This year Wagner Farm Arboretum's widely acclaimed Festival of Butterflies has been expanded to include many exciting new attractions and has been renamed "A Festival of Nature." This wonderful event boasts a wide array of animal exhibits, outdoor activities, food, games, music, honey extraction, and vendors. It's a great day out for the whole family. Visitors will be enthralled to hand-feed hundreds of beautiful butterflies in our giant walk-through butterfly pavilion and amazed by our raptor exhibit featuring eagles, falcons, owls and hawks and our falconry free-flight shows. Stop by our giant petting zoo and feed the animals and then head off to Rizzo's Reptiles' to see their animal demonstrations. Do not miss "Tecomah", a real-live timber wolf! Children can help build a giant bug hotel, put out fires with the fire truck hose, jump around to their hearts content on our giant inflatables and play lots of fun games. 11 am - 4 pm.
