BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP — Kids today.

Police say they've arrested several teenage car thieves — including a 13-year-old found behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge Charger.

According to police, they got a report on Sunday that someone had broken into the Dodge City on Route 130 sometimes Saturday night. They found two people had entered the business, but they weren't sure if anything was stolen, police said.

Then, Monday, at about 1:18 a.m. police received an alarm activation at the same dealership, and saw a car pulling out of the lot, police said. They stopped that Jeep, and found it being driven by Xavier Carter, 18, of Beverly, police. When more police from Burlington Township and Burlington City arrived to canvas the area, they found three more people running away on food across Route 130 toward Willingboro, police said — 18-year-old Terry Bailey and two 15-year-olds.

Police said they soon learned another vehicle was missing — the Charger. It was stopped a short time later by Westville police — with the 13-year-old driving, police said.

All five were charged with burglary and theft.

Carter was lodged in the Burlington County Jail lieu of $15,000 bail, police said. The others were released pending court hearings.
