A 11-vehicle accident on Route 130 near the New Jersey Turnpike in South Brunswick slowed the morning commute.

South Brunswick Police Captain Jim Ryan said the accident on the southbound side at Route 32 occurred when a commuter bus that was just starting its route plowed "at highway speed" into 10 cars stopped at the light for Route 32.

"Some of the cars went into a field near the accident scene," Ryan said..

No one except for the driver was on the bus, Ryan said.

Two people were seriously injured in the crash and two people had to be extricated from their vehicle, Ryan said. The highway was closed around 8 a.m. to move all the vehicles involved off the road. It had reopened by approximately 9 a.m.

The intersection is a direct route to the New Jersey Turnpike's as Route 32 eastbound goes to exit No. 8A.
