New Jersey Transit has disciplined ten employees after it installed GPS tracking in its vehicles to eliminate fraud and abuse.

Three of the employees were fired and one was suspended for 30 days.

NJ Transit outfitted 480 vehicles with GPS technology in the winter of 2013.

Durso says the agency has seen a drop in usage and in gasoline.

Durso says the fleet logged nearly 109,000 hours from January to March of 2013, compared with 68,069 hours for the same three-month period in 2014. Fuel usage dropped from 9,314 gallons to 7,099 for the period.
