LONG BEACH ISLAND — A 35-year-old man died in a boating accident on the Barnegat Bay Sunday, according to multiple reports.

6 ABC reports Chanhee Kang of Hainesport, New Jersey, the operator of the 16-foot boat, was pronounced dead at the scene, after his boat and 36-foot speedboat crashed off the coast of Long Beach Island. Three people were tossed overboard, the report says, citing the Coast Guard.

A total of seven passengers had been on the two boats involved, NJ Advance Media reported, citing New Jersey State Police. Another passenger on Kang's skiff boat was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, where he was treated and released, that report said.

The four passengers on the speed boat were not injured.

Authorities have not yet said how the crash occurred or which boat was believed to be at fault.
